About this Role:

The ISA CERTIFIED climbing position to work with MTS Tree Service.

Strong work ethic who can work freely, appreciates learning new skills, and enjoys working outdoors. The tree climber will at all times stick to Cutting Edge safety guidelines, performing work according to all policies and systems.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of equipment to expel and discard undesirable branches, which can involve using brush chippers, boom trucks, stump chippers, power saws and numerous others
  • Climb trees utilizing climb hooks, belts and ladders in order to access the worksite, or supervise others using these items to ensure they are being safe
  • Prune the top of trees to make them more visually pleasing to the general public
  • Inspect trees to check whether there are any underlying issues, for example, diseases or fungus growing
  • Ensure the worksite remains safe by putting up caution tape around the surrounding area in the event that it is in a public space
  • Clear the site once the activity is completed by loading up branches and other bits of debris into work truck
  • Utilizes all proper individual protective equipment
  • Provide guidance to property proprietors about the best possible approach to care for the new tree, and propose routine maintenance visits

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • ISA Certification in tree climbing for the state
  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver’s permit
  • Capacity to solve problems and accomplish shared objectives with exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Static and dynamic cabling, bracing, bolting, guying trees and branches
  • Expertise to hoist tools and equipment, safely lower branches with ropes, use a block and tackle
  • Daily inspection of all personal climbing and safety equipment including ropes, saddle, PPE
  • Understands and adheres to all safety rules and company safety policies, participates in all safety training meetings offered, asks questions, and improves work safety skills
